Welcome: To the Brooklyn On Line Virtual Tour of the Flatlands Dutch
Reform Church.
The Present Building was built in 1848 and has been designated a New
York Landmark. It
replaced an Octagonal Church in 1794.OK - Now for the Cemetary. Many of the most famous names in Brooklyn lore are represented in this burial ground. One Block South of the Church is a small street called Lott Street. Here is Tombstone of John J Lott who died just as the War of 1812 was coming to a close. This Stone is unusual because it is in English and fairly good shape.
This next stone is in Dutch and I can't quite figure out the name on it. It might be Van Anrie. Or maybe not. It might be Kouvenhoye. If you can tell me email me. It is an old stone from 1774.
