Depression and Bipolar Awareness Program at SUNY Downstate, Feb. 24

SUNY Downstate Medical Center and the NYC Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention are offering a free educational seminar on “Depression and Bipolar Awareness: From Diagnosis to Remission,” on Wednesday, February 24, from 5:30 – 8:00 pm, in the Alumni Auditorium, at 395 Lenox Road, Brooklyn. The event features a one-hour broadcast with medical experts and a panel of patients and family members describing their experiences, the benefits of treatment, and recovery. Following the broadcast, members of SUNY Downstate’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences will answer questions from the audience. The NY Chinese Cultural Center is proud to present a Chinese Martial Arts Program with Master Tony Chuy. This program includes traditional Chinese Martial Arts forms such as, Northern Shaolin, Northern Praying Mantis, Yang Style Tai Chi and various traditional Chinese Weapons Forms as well.

Master Tony Chuy has been teaching traditional Chinese Gung-Fu and Tai Chi for over 28 years at his school in New York City. Over the years, he has performed at over 300 social events and cultural performances throughout the tri-state area. He has been featured in numerous television broadcasts and appeared in and on the covers of several martial arts magazines throughout the U.S., China, Hong Kong, and Japan.
